LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Mayors from across the state of Ohio will be gathering in Findlay on Thursday to address several important issues.
Smith says they will come out with policy solutions and initiatives to tackle in the remainder of 2024.
Education, housing, and public safety will top the list at the Ohio Mayors Alliance regional meeting hosted by Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn. Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith will be in attendance representing the city and says that while these issues are present across the state, they vary in each municipality.
Mayors from across the state of Ohio will be gathering in Findlay on Thursday to address several important issues.
"The issues in Columbus are different than the issues in Toledo, and the issues in Findlay, and the issues in Lima. So, this meeting allows us an opportunity as mayors for this region to discuss both problems and solutions to tackle these statewide issues. It also allows us to be able to showcase some of the achievements of what's happening in various communities as well," said Mayor Sharetta Smith, City of Lima.
Smith says they will come out with policy solutions and initiatives to tackle in the remainder of 2024. Smith has recently been appointed as co-chair of the Substance Use Disorder Prevention and Recovery Task Force of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
