CELINA, OH (WLIO) - Five fire departments battled a farm building fire in Celina last night and remained on the scene most of the night checking for hotspots.
The Celina Fire Department was called to 3081 Carmel Church Road around 8:30 p.m. to find the milking parlor on the farm was on fire. The Chattanooga, Coldwater, Mendon, and Rockford Fire Departments were called in to help put out the blaze. The building was heavily damaged but luckily no livestock was injured or killed. No damage estimate has been set yet. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
January 31, 2024 Press Release from Celina Fire Department: On January 30, 2024 at 2025 hours, the Celina Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the property of Garrett & Judy Hellwarth. The Celina Fire Department requested mutual aid from Chattanooga, Coldwater, Mendon, and Rockford Fire Departments. Upon arrival crews found fire in the Milking Parlor on this Farm. The fire was extinguished and heavy damage was noted to this building. No livestock were injured or killed in the fire. Crews remained on scene throughout the night checking for hotspots. The fire remains under investigation. There are no damage estimates available at this time.
