May 21, 2024, Press Release from the Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort: Wapakoneta Ohio May 21, 2024 – When an EF-3 tornado tore through Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort on March 14, 2024, it was unknown whether residents would be able to return for the 2024 camping season. As a result of the hard work of staff, contractors, and hundreds of volunteers, the resort will open this Friday, May 24th at 9 a.m., celebrating the Memorial Day holiday with fun and festivities.
“We are thankful for so many reasons,” said CEO Kurt Keeney. “Most importantly for the lives that were saved, for our first responders who were on the scene on the night the tornado hit and were with us during the recovery efforts at Glacier. We are proud of our community leadership staff and are grateful for the many volunteers who helped with the clean-up efforts and provided meals and supplies. We still have some work to do, but Glacier is back, and we are going to have a great summer.”
Glacier Hill Lakes RV Resort is a 368-lot camping resort community that offers full amenities including a clubhouse, picnic shelter, swimming pool, pickle ball court, playground and a full summer activities program. The Memorial Day opening weekend celebration will feature live music, food truck, games and a parade.
Glacier Hill Lakes was named Best in Camping, Family Getaway and Glamping Resort by Midwest Traveler in 2023 and was named Best in Camping and Best in Glamping in 2024.
