Income Based Utility Assistance Program Changing Verification Rules

PIPP+, an income based energy assistance program that helps families afford and regulate utilities is changing the process in which applicants enroll.

The West Ohio Community Action Partnership says there will be more documentation required for verification. Every year the partnership must re-verify enrolled applicants income. Now, program participants no longer need to make an appointment to do so. It is as easy as dropping off updated income and West Ohio CAP will process it for you. But starting this year applicants that are renewing or are new to the program have to prove U.S citizenship and eligibility for the services by providing either a birth certificate, baptismal record, or voter registration card. West Ohio CAP says the program is a great benefit to those who participate.

If you need to re-apply or want to be involved with the program you can call the West Ohio CAP office at 419-227-2586. You will be directed to a line where you can schedule an appointment. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 A.M to 5 P.M.
