Tonight's talk was centered around toxic masculinity and putting to rest some of the misleading ideas around the topic.
"I want them to takeaway that it's okay to be a man. It's okay to be masculine, and everything that is listed as toxic is not necessarily toxic within a proper context and coming from a healthy place. Tonight is generally about masculinity and their manhood and leadership, especially with our boys. But what I really wanted to hit on, and I was struggling about which order to do it in, is to look at relationships. In our relationships and how we approach relationships with others, specifically intimate relationships with women. Then, also looking at the definitions, guides, and the socialization we have around that topic," added Menzise, Speaker, Doctor of Clinical Psychology & Leading Consultant of Mind on the Matter.
