The United States Senate gives its final OK to spend 700 billion dollars on national defense.
The Senate overwhelmingly approved the National Defense Authorization Act in a vote Thursday morning. Now the bill will head to President Trump's desk to be signed into law. The act will benefit the Joint System Manufacturing Center with some future work. The National Defense Authorization Act included a little over 1.6 billion dollars for Abrams Tank upgrades and modifications, and 622 million dollars for the Stryker vehicle.
Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman have been instrumental in securing funding for the JSMC.
