Kids at the Putnam County Fair got a chance to see what it's like in the driver's seat of a tractor.

The Putnam County Farm Bureau hosted its third annual "Kids Dream Day" tractor event Thursday evening. This event gives kids the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a tractor and take it for a spin around the show arena at the fair. A member of the farm bureau hops in the tractor with them and shows them the interior of the tractor, and some of the updated features that new tractors have today. The Putnam County Farm Bureau wants to expose kids to agriculture as soon as they can to create the next generation of great farmers.

"Just gives kids the opportunity to you know, ride in today's tractors. Different technology now, to get a different viewpoint. You know, kids are removed from Ag nowadays, and so to get them, you know, involved or see what today's Ag is like is kind of exciting for us," said Charlie Maag, Putnam County Farm Bureau trustee.

The money raised from "Kids Dream Day" will go directly to the Putnam County Farm Bureau to fund membership and community activities.
