LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The numbers are growing at the newly established Boys & Girls Club of America at the Bradfield Center.
Members of the Lima Kiwanis Club heard about the club and the programming they offer for children on Tuesday.Â
Members of the Lima Kiwanis Club heard about the club and the programming they offer for children. School-age kids have the opportunity to attend a structured after-school program with the Boys & Girls Club at Bradfield. It's designed to provide a safe space where these children can thrive and become productive citizens.
"One of the programs that we have as soon as they come in is called "Power Hour." Now "Power Hour" requires them to finish homework. That way they're not taking it home. They're there with us until 7 o'clock at night, so getting the homework out of the way is a great thing. Also, we have structured curriculums in which come through, and it's all educational based," explained Junior Ramos, united director at the Boys & Girls Club at the Bradfield Community Center.
