Latta says the United States needs more power and protecting and improving the current grid to defend against not only weather-related outages but also cyberattacks.

“We have had 3 attacks on substations in this country in the last several years. When major attack was down in North Carolina, it took out 43,000 people from having power for about 4 days. The utilities companies are spending a lot of money, not just on their cyber end, but how do you harden the grid that you know it today that we can make sure that the power keeps flowing,” says Rep. Bob Latta, (R) Ohio’s 5th district congressman.
