On Saturday one downtown organization hosted an event to help showcase the work of locals.
The Legacy Arts Street Party featured more than 20 different vendors. There were paintings, ceramics, jewelry and more. Everything was made locally. There was even live Caribbean music by a Lima-area band.
Legacy Arts created this first-time event as a way to not only show off the work of locals but to also show people they can find everything they need locally.
“It’s just all about local arts and local entertainment,” said Sarah Stover, the co-owner of Shop for Good. “It’s something that as business owners downtown we felt that there was really a need for to facilitate a little more exposure for our local arts scene.”
Legacy arts will also be hosting a Halloween comic book fest in October.
