LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â History was coming to life for students at Lima's North Middle School as the school year comes to an end.
Some 5th and 6th graders get the chance to experience what life would be like during the American Revolution, the Civil War, and the Western Expansion.
Educators say that it can be difficult to keep the students' attention in the last few days of classes. The kids went room to room for the "Our History Era Tour." The hands-on activities seem to keep their attention and help them retain the information.
"They are looking forward to every day. They are getting here early. I had some of them message me last night, asking if they could dress up to partake in the activities. They look forward to getting their pictures taken in all the different sets. So, the hands-on learning is absolutely wonderful, even at the end of the school year," commented Denise Kruse, Lima North intervention specialist.
Lima City Schools only have 6 more days until classes are dismissed for the summer.
