LIMA — The postseason started with a statement for Lima Senior, as the Spartans rolled past Cincinnati Aiken 62-20 in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs.
Ja’Niaus Hall got things started early, running in untouched for a touchdown to extend the Spartans’ lead to 12-0 after a missed conversion. Moments later, Hall tossed to Da’Kaden Taylor, who flipped the ball to Jeff Williams in the back of the end zone for another score.
Lima Senior kept the offense rolling when Hall found Jermaine Maxwell on a slant route for another touchdown, giving the Spartans a 26-6 lead. Hall later added his second rushing touchdown of the game, slipping past a defender and inside the pylon.
On defense, Kaelen Law jumped a route for an interception, setting up yet another touchdown drive capped by a Hall-to-Maxwell connection.
The Spartans, winners of seven straight and the Toledo City League champions, advance to face Trotwood-Madison next Friday night.
