These kids were not only staying active at the Lima Family YMCA but getting creative as well. They were making masks, making new friends, and having fun with friends they had already met through the no-school day program. The “Y” offers this on major holidays that schools are out of session and the kids are happy their parents sign them up.

Gage Guice tells about what he likes, “It's really about Presidents Day and stuff. It’s basically like since there is no school since it’s Presidents Day everybody, kids can just come here and hang out. Play gaga ball, they can swim, they can go to the gym and stuff. They can make masks, they can make slime, they can do a lot of things really.”

Ailen Veloz adds, “I think it would be fun to come over here because we would do fun activities like swimming and stuff like that. I came over here because we really didn’t have much to do at home.”

The no-school day is only 15-dollars for members and 20-dollars for non-members. It’s open to kids from kindergarten through 4th grade and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
