If you have a young child, the most important thing you need in your vehicle is a working car seat.
The Lima Fire Department is now offering car seat inspections by appointment. Firefighter and Paramedic Emily Bowsher recently completed training to properly install car seats in vehicles. She will also instruct parents on all the safety features of the seat and make sure it is the perfect fit for your child.
Firefighter/paramedic Emily Bowsher adds, “So if you would like to come out and have your car seat checked, we will go through and check it. Bring your child with you and we’ll make sure they are properly fitted in the car seat, that it’s the right seat for the child's age, weight, and height.”
You can call the fire department at (419) 221-5167 or go to their Facebook page to make an appointment. They are also able to provide income-eligible families with a car seat thanks to the “Ohio Buckles Buckeyes” program.
