LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The City of Lima is hosting its first Contractor Expo aimed at connecting local businesses with job opportunities through the city’s home repair programs.
The city’s Department of Housing and Neighborhoods oversees several programs that provide funding to homeowners for emergency repairs. Officials are now seeking to partner with area contractors to complete those projects, which can range from electrical and plumbing work to roofing repairs.
City leaders say the expo is designed to help speed up the home repair process while also supporting local small businesses by offering consistent work opportunities.
“Put it out there for local contractors to come in, find out about how to work in housing and neighborhoods, learn all the do’s and don’ts to the program, find out about how the funding works, because it is federal funding, and get a great pool of folks who can consistently work with us,” said Carmillia Zion, director of the Department of Housing and Neighborhoods.
The Contractor Expo will take place Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cambridge Center, located at 418 N. Central Ave. No pre-registration is required to attend.
