LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Senior seized control early and never looked back, rolling to a 63–29 victory over Lima Central Catholic in a girls basketball matchup Tuesday night.
 
The Lady Spartans opened the game with a dominant first quarter, scoring the first 19 points and setting the tone from the opening tip.
 
Angela Kohlhofer got Lima Senior started with an inside finish, and the Spartans continued to capitalize on both ends of the floor.
 
Freshman Michaela Bean added to the early surge, cleaning up a deflection and banking in a putback as Lima Senior pushed the pace and overwhelmed the Thunderbirds defensively.
 
Jaislynn Ingram fueled the run with her shot-making, knocking down a step-back jumper after a crossover. The junior left-hander continued to apply pressure throughout the night, showcasing her scoring ability.
 
Lima Central Catholic briefly slowed the momentum when senior Carolina Kill converted a three-point play, finishing through contact off the glass to end the Spartans’ opening run.
 
The Thunderbirds fought to stay competitive, but struggled to match Lima Senior’s depth and speed.
 
Ingram later added an and-one opportunity off a turnover as the Lady Spartans pulled further ahead, maintaining control from start to finish.
 
Lima Senior cruised the rest of the way to secure the win in the Lima Showdown, improving its season outlook with the 34-point victory.
