Lima Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left one person dead.
Officers were called to 939 Brice Avenue around 9:20 pm after reports of shots fired. There, they found one victim, Donald Smith, 63, of Lima, lying in the street and suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Smith had been involved in an altercation with Quintel Estelle, 38, also of Lima, in front of a residence.

At some point, Estelle went into the house and came back out with a gun. He then fired at least two shots at Smith, only one of which hit him. Emergency personnel transported Smith to Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center for treatment, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
LPD is currently looking for Estelle, who fled after the shooting. They are asking for anyone with information regarding his location to contact the Lima Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (419) 229-STOP.
