LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Over at the Allen County Fair, the Lima Area Radio Kontrol Society held demonstrations in front of spectators.
The group hopes to give kids and adults a constructive activity to do while getting outside and being active with the experts on hand, providing insight and knowledge on how to properly control a drone.

Those interested in personally purchasing their very own drone, then you're in luck, as the group is auctioning off two drones and a Rockcrawler with an additional raffle that folks can enter.
For those interested in controlling a drone, the Lima Area Kontrol Society holding an open house on August 25, 2024.
"It’s not real difficult to learn to fly the drones. They're pretty tamed. They won’t do a lot of stunts and stuff, but that’s what makes them easy and simple to fly. It is a two-hand, two-stick coordinated effort. To make it go forward, you have to move the one stick forward. To make it back up, you have to pull it back. To go right right, you tip it right. You know that kind of thing of thing," explained Rodney Metz, Lima Area Kontrol Society.
For those interested in controlling a drone, the Lima Area Kontrol Society holding an open house this Sunday just for the occasion to give individuals an opportunity to fly drones.
