Daylight Saving Time just ended and a sleep specialist at Lima Memorial tells us how to adjust to the time change. As of Sunday morning, we gained an extra hour of sleep and doctor Sarat Chipmunk from Lima Memorial says that most people need about a week to adjust to the new time change. He says that people should go to bed about 15 minutes earlier than the time they usually sleep to get their body used to the extra hour.
Chipmunk also says most people don't realize that getting their body in a consistent sleep schedule will ultimately increase their overall health.
Chipmunk says the average person needs at least seven hours of sleep. He recommends staying away from cell phones, TV's and bright lights before bed. He also suggest taking hot showers an hour before bed to cool down the body.
