Allen County is still listed as a high community of transmission by the Centers for Disease Control with 942 cases per 100,000. Allen County Public Health understands that people are going to gather for celebrations and ask them to use all layers of protection that they can. Those being masks, distancing, washing hands and vaccinations.

Allen County Health Commissioner Branden Fischer explains, “We’ve seen after pretty much every holiday in 2021 COVID spread increase following those holidays and its just the small gatherings that turn larger when the spread takes place and goes thru a lot of households.”

Fischer also encourages anyone that is noticing any symptoms to get a test and even as hard as it may be to stay home to protect yourself and others from the spread of the virus.
