Local veterans honored at Lincolnview High School

There were a total of 67 veterans in attendance, with Lincolnview band and choir students performing patriotic songs and tributes.

Friday afternoon inside Lincolnview High School was their annual Veterans Day program where students and staff had their veteran family members recognized. There were a total of 67 veterans in attendance, with Lincolnview band and choir students performing patriotic songs and tributes. The keynote speakers were from the honor flight northeast Indiana, where they discussed how much honor flights mean to our veterans. A goal of the Veterans Day program is to teach students to always show respect for our country's most courageous men and women.

"We're living in times of divisiveness, and I think we all need to come together. If there is one thing that we can agree on, it is to honor our veterans, and I want future generations to go out and something. Be proactive; show the veterans that they care and that they are appreciated," said Stephanie Renner, creator and organizer of the Lincolnview Veterans Day program.

Renner also adds she started the Veterans Day program to honor the legacy of her grandfather.
