Each year, on the second Saturday of May, letter carriers across the nation collect non-perishable food donations from residents on their routes. They are asking you to put the food out by your mailbox early this Saturday, May 11th, as there will be volunteers out assisting them with the collection. The donations stay local and help families struggling with food insecurities.

"Like the city has the West Ohio Food Bank, and then like Cridersville has a church, Elida has a church, so they all have their own different food banks. So when we collect the food, even in Celina or whatever the surrounding areas that participate, they all go to their own food pantries and stay right in their own city," said Joe Steegman, food drive coordinator.
