Lima, OH (WLIO) - If you had pizza for dinner Wednesday, you might be surprised how many others did too.
The night before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest nights of the year for pizza orders. Westgate Entertainment Center normally sees four to five times more sales on that night than on a typical business day. They were prepared with extra staff on the clock to help fill all of those orders. The owner says there's a few reasons why pizza is so popular on Thanksgiving's eve.
"Lot of carry-out pizza tonight. I think everybody's gonna be cooking tomorrow so they don't want to cook tonight. I also think there's a lot of people in town that maybe haven't had their favorite pizza, whether it be us or any other pizza places around town. They wanna come back and have some of that pizza they grew up with," said Andy Johnston, owner of Westgate Entertainment Center.
Some of the busiest nights for pizza sales also include New Year's Eve and Superbowl Sunday.
