Another road closure as the construction of the Lima Town Square roundabout continues.
Market Street east of the square will be closed possibly through Wednesday as Dominion Energy is working on an underground utility gas line. Work continues on the western and eastern splitter islands as construction continues to progress.
Ian Kohli Lima City Engineer explains, “Our next move is to excavate for the center island and the truck apron. We’re hoping to do that over the next couple weeks and during that time we will have additional traffic impacts to get that in. But after that’s in, traffic should have a much easier time navigating through the roundabouts.”
The project completion date depends on when it can get the final asphalt and getting a paving contractor in. It could be as early as August or as late as November.
