CELINA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Celina man has been sentenced to at least a decade in prison for a shooting incident that occurred in November.
Samuel Paul, 49, was sentenced Wednesday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court to a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 12 1/2 years. Paul pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious assault. He had originally been indicted on six charges, but as part of a plea deal, other charges, including attempted murder, were dropped.
The charges stem from a Nov. 3 incident in Celina, where Paul admitted to shooting his stepson-in-law, Christopher Magnus, in the back following an argument in Paul’s home. Magnus suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Dayton hospital for treatment.
