LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It can be confusing for those who have been on it for years, let alone for those looking to sign up for the first time.
Getting set up for Medicare can be a daunting task. Mercy Health St. Rita's is hosting an informational session for anyone with questions. It will include Medicare 101 education along with other health topic information. Organizers say it's important that you and your loved ones know what coverage you have.
"Every year during open enrollment we encourage people and their families and their loved ones to really take a close look at their medicare plans. Make sure that their health status hasn't changed and that all of their trusted and caring providers are still in their networks. As we age it's more important than ever to make sure that we're working with people we know and trust and who know our health history. So this is a good time to just re-evaluate and make sure you're in the right plan," said Beth Keehn, director of government and community affairs.
The Medicare event is Monday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby near the cafe at St. Rita's Medical Center, located at 730 W. Market St. Lima, Ohio 45801. It's free and open to the public.
