Another one of the family members charged with hindering the Vera Jo Reigle murder investigation, is sentenced.
26 year old Micheal Brooks has been sentenced to 30 days in the Hancock County Jail after pleading guilty to an obstruction of justice charge. After his release, Brooks will be on probation for 5 years. Brooks admitted he lied to detectives who were looking into the disappearance and murder of Vera Jo Reigle. Reigle was found stabbed to death on railroad tracks near the Brooks home, with whom she was staying.
Brooks later told the police what happened surrounding the circumstance of Reigle's death. Brooks could be called to testify in the trials of Bixler and Peters, both of them charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and Bixler has an additional felonious assault charge.
Micheal Brooks is not allowed to make any contact with his family members, Cheri and Zachary Brooks.
