A tragic ending in the disappearance of a Bellefontaine mother of two.
Police say 26 year old Tiffany Brown's dead body was discovered last night hidden in the basement of her mother's home.
"I just can't wrap my head around it," said Jacealynn Preston, family friend.
Friends can't believe that the search is over, that Tiffany Brown is dead, and that Samuel Littleton II, the man they call Sammy, is now being sought in a nationwide search. They have several unanswered questions about Littleton and his location.
"I don't know. I don't want to believe it, but where is he? What are we going to think? I can't wrap my head around it. I just love Tiff and her boys. She's a great mom," said Jacealynn Preston.
Brown's body was found Wednesday evening, after police obtained a search warrant of her mother's Eastern Avenue home in Bellefontaine. Brown's body was hidden in the basement, an area of the house primarily occupied by Littleton. Friends say Neely andLlittleton had dated for at least a decade. Rhonda Preston and her daughter Jacealynn say they had been in the home on Tuesday comforting Brown's family. Littleton was there.
"I hugged a possible murderer. It's just disgusting. It just doesn't happen," said Rhonda Preston
Brown was reported missing Friday, after she didn't return from running errands.
Many neighbors say they can't imagine what might have happened in the home just steps away from their own.
"It's terrible. I don't even know them, and it upsets me. It's hard to believe," said Carol Collins, Neely's neighbor.
"This doesn't happen in a small town like this," said Carol Jones, another neighbor.
Police are stressing that Deb Neely, Tiffany Brown's mother is not a suspect.
Littleton, however, does remain a person of interest.
