On Saturday families gathered at New Life Church International for its annual soup kitchen Thanksgiving Dinner.
A line stretched out to the end of the soup kitchen door as people waited to receive their meal. There was ham, turkey and so much more. Also, there were all kinds of different desserts.
This dinner is a part of a weekly meal that is served at the church on Saturdays. It is done in an effort to show their appreciation for the people in the community.
“It’s a family environment here where we talk with them and we get to know them a little bit better and it gives them time to come here with their family and sit down and have a nice Thanksgiving meal,” said Yvonne Jones, New Life Church International Soup Kitchen department leader.
The soup kitchen will be open again next Saturday from 11 to noon.
