The Lima Fire Department was busy Friday morning on the city's northeast side.
Shortly after 7 a.m., a call for a possible house fire was made. After arriving, officials say there were flames and smoke coming from the back-right corner of the two-story garage. The fire was quickly extinguished, but hot spots and minor smoke remained as of 8:30. The owners were in their home when the fire started and nobody was injured. Fire officials estimate $5,000 in damages to the structure and an additional $5,000 for belongings within the garage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
