Early voting in Ohio begins Tuesday, October 8th, where Ohioans can cast their absentee ballots in-person at the local county board of elections office. You can also mail your absentee ballot, but keep in mind that your absentee ballot must be postmarked the day before Election Day or earlier and needs to be received by your local county board of elections office no later than 4 days after election day. If you do decide to wait until Election Day to vote in-person, Secretary LaRose shared with us state preparations for in-person voting.
"It's making sure that we've got our locations lined up that on the rare chances where that location may have changed, maybe the building that had been your polling location before was under construction now or something's going on. When that happens, the boards of elections notify people well in advance. It's making sure that those machines that are going to be used on election day are tested. There's a full battery of tests called the logic and accuracy test done by, yes, Democrats and Republicans working together. They go through each machine and test them before each election. Then, of course, as I said, training those poll workers, not just all the things they need to know to check your ID and to show you how to use the voting machine, but also something like de-escalation. We've worked on this because sometimes people come in a little bit fired up and maybe they've got a concern about something and how you handle that," says Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State.

If you do decide to wait until Election Day to vote in-person, Secretary LaRose shared with us state preparations for in-person voting.
