People were invited to OSU Lima on Tuesday to make a donation that could save a life.

OSU Lima hosted an American Red Cross blood drive. Not only students were encouraged to stop in and donate, but members of the public could also take part in the drive. Those with OSU Lima say that hosting a blood drive on campus makes sense with how they work to help those around them.

"Having a blood drive on campus coincides with the theme that Ohio State tries to implement, giving back to the community - even a simple donation can save lives," said Ohio State Lima third year Dalton Faulder.

The Red Cross is hoping that by coming to a college campus, more young adults will consider giving blood.

"We're really looking to try and recruit a lot of our college-age donors whose schedules change, many of them are just starting their careers, and we're so thankful for the students who are donating here today," said Derek Stemen, executive director for the Red Cross of West Central Ohio.
