BATH TOWNSHIP, Allen County, Ohio (WLIO) — Local and state leaders joined Procter and Gamble officials in celebrating their half a billion dollar investment into Lima and Allen County.
“We are investing in the future of this business. We are investing in the future of US manufacturing, and we are investing in the future of this region and this community,” says Amy Krehbiel, Senior Vice President, P&G Fabric Care division.
The new 250,000 square foot facility will be the first in-house production site of Procter and Gamble’s scent bead lines. This is the third facility that the global company has built in its over 50-year history in Allen County.
“We are launching a new era of innovation and growth. This facility here is a key enabler of propelling our P&G brands to new heights. It will serve as our very first in-house production site for our in wash scent beads, which is the rocket ship of our future for the fabric care P&G business,” adds Krehbiel.
Company leaders say there are two main reason to look at this region to grow their fabric care division.
“It is strategic, you know, where it sits today, but more importantly, is the talent, the committed talent that we're able to attract and develop from the Lima area and from the Ohio and its entire team,” says Fares Sayegh, Global Senior Vice President of Product Supply.
“This represents growth for Lima, for Allen County and the entire region. It shows confidence not just in being able to build and grow here, but also confidence in the workforce that we have here in our community and looking forward to additional living wage jobs coming to this area,” says Mayor Sharetta Smith, City of Lima.
“When it comes to workforce and development in our area, it's always important to remember our companies and industries that are already here to make sure and work with them that they will remain and prosper in Allen County,” says Brian Winegardner, Allen County Commissioner.
The scent bead facility has created one hundred jobs, and will continue to grow to meet the global need for their products.
