HANCOCK COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - An annual tradition carried on since 1998.
For over 25 years, Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation Inc. has spent the last two months of the year turning their location into a Christmas wonderland.
People from all over the United States come to ride the "North Pole Express." For over 25 years, Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation Inc. has spent the last two months of the year turning their location into a Christmas wonderland. The bright, colorful decorations you can see as you ride the train are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.
"'It's amazing,' they say, and they can't believe the prices because we're an all-volunteer group. We have no wages, and everything's done. They get in here for 20 bucks, and they could spend three hours and enjoy Christmas," says Mike Schroeder, scheduler for the North Pole Express.
"My son loves seeing the model trains inside. They love riding on the train out here. Especially when they blow the whistle, they love that," says Joe Marshall, a customer returning for their 4th year.
The Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation plans on continuing this tradition next year.
