OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) – Ottawa-Glandorf School is celebrating 60 years of Titan Pride. On Tuesday morning, the Class of 1965 and the Class of 2025 came together to honor six decades of the school district’s history.

The Class of 1965 was the first to graduate after the Ottawa and Glandorf schools consolidated. Alumni shared stories with current seniors about how the school community voted to adopt “Titans” as the mascot and how they combined colors from both schools to create the blue and gold color scheme that remains today.

Alumni shared stories with current seniors about how the school community voted to adopt “Titans” as the mascot and picking their school colors.

Your News Now spoke with alumni and their grandchildren in the senior class about the legacy of school pride carried through generations.

“I just seen my four children graduated from here, and now I see the grandkids graduate from here so and I watch them in sports, and they're all pretty good athletes,” said Norman Duling, Class of 1965.

“I've always played sports growing up, and he played basketball, and, he's been coming to every game here for 60 years. He has his whole life, and it's been fun being able to play in front of him on the same gym he played,” said Ross Maag, Class of 2025.

“I graduated here, and basketball is my thing, and watching the kids in their sports. Just a lot of fun, brings back old memories,” said John Morman, Class of 1965.

“I love it here. We're a strong academic school, and going to all those state games years in a row, being in the student section has been really fun. It was fun they'd always sit during basketball games, so I'd go up during halftime, or like the first quarter of the JV game and go sit with them before I went to the student section and have some fun,” said Jase Utrup, Class of 2025.

To mark the 60th anniversary of Ottawa-Glandorf, the Class of 1965 will plant trees on the school grounds in honor of the milestone.
