Friday nights this summer just got a little more fun in downtown Lima, as a 28-year-old tradition returns for the 2019 season.
Rally in the Square is back and the band, The Whirlybirds, which features some local talent, kicked of the season with a huge crowd. For over the three decades, ArtSpace Lima has given the community a chance to come together and have some fun. The Rally brings a variety of music genres throughout the summer. While the music may get your toes tapping on the square, ArtSpace also gives the public a chance to check out some creative visuals inside.
"Well we leave the doors open, it is not something we do just out the square. We have people come in and look at our gallery and see the artwork. We publicize it to come in and now it’s during our spring show. There are a lot of regional people here that are in the gallery, so we want to make sure that people step inside as well as being part of the outside," said Sally Windle, executive director of ArtSpace Lima.
