People strapped up their helmets and laced up their shoes as they prepared for the 11th Annual River Ride at Heritage Park.

Families across Allen County came out the annual bike ride event on Saturday.

Throughout the morning participants rode anywhere between 10 to 62.5 miles through the park's trail.

This is an event put on every year by Rally Point Youth Center, a youth faith-based organization that helps mentor children and bring them closer to god.

The money raised from this event will go towards general operations and other initiatives.

“We pick up the kids on the North end. We provide transportation,” said Yvonne Jones, Rally Point director. “We also do after school tutoring for them and just a lot of activities and other things that we do.”

There were close to 180 participants last year and the organization is hoping to meet or surpass that amount this year. Their goal is to raise $20,000.
