A ranking, put together by Home Security Shield, a product of ADT, says Lima is the 10th most dangerous city in the state, and the second most when it comes to violent crime. Â
The company compiled numbers on both violent crime and property crime from the FBIs uniform crime report. Â The list seems startling, but Major Jim Baker of the Lima Police Department says crime in the city has actually fallen dramatically since 2008. Â The data, which is from 2012, shows Lima had about 53 reported crimes for every 1,000 people. Â
Whitehall, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, was ranked as the most dangerous city in the state. Â Several other suburbs are listed as well as major cities including Cleveland and Cincinnati. Â
