ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Senior citizens in Allen County are getting a heads-up about local resources available to help them out.
The second annual "Senior Resource Fair," organized by Allen County Job and Family Services, was held Wednesday. The fair offers senior citizens a chance to meet with various local organizations that can help them with everything from assisted living and hospice care to physical and mental health services. A variety of booths were set up with handouts and helpful information on what services the organizations offer and how they can make life easier for seniors.
"Particularly in the senior population, it's about knowing what's all available to you. Particularly when you're getting a little older in years, you just wanna kinda know what those various resources look like and so this is a great opportunity to see them all in one room. We're excited that over three dozen vendors showed up today. So it's a great event to bring some folks together in a one-stop shop for everybody," said Jacob Larger, adult protective services administrator for Allen County Job and Family Services.
The Senior Resource Fair is centered in June, which is World Elder Abuse Awareness Month.Â
