WAPAKONETA, OHIO (WLIO) - A downtown park in Wapakoneta seemed a little more colorful on Saturday, as the Riverside Art Center hosted their first ever “Art in the Park.”

Riverside wanted to do an “Art in the Park” a few years ago to support local artists, but the pandemic hit.
20 artists from across the Buckeye State came to Heritage Park to show off their talent and sell some of their art. There were painters, woodworkers, fiber artists, as well as children’s authors that were on hand for the event. “So, the concept that we developed was right before COVID, and as you know, everything goes downhill after that. So, it’s been on the back burner, and a couple of months ago we got together and started talking about revisiting this. So, for our first one, we are very happy that we have at least 20 phenomenal artists come out,” says Tenet Killebrew, Riverside Arts Center.

Organizers are already planning next year’s Art in the Park and hope to grow to 50 artists in their second year.
