LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Renovations to part of the City of Lima's municipal building will mean the relocation of several city departments.
The second floor and main lobby of City Hall will undergo a major renovation project in the next three months. This will relocate the departments of public works administration, engineering, housing, and neighborhoods, as well as the Lima Allen County Building Department. They will be relocating temporarily to the first floor at 675 West Market Street, across from Mercy Health-St. Rita's. The relocation is anticipated for July 1st through September 30th.
"There'll be some transition days at the beginning and end. Obviously, move some computers, get set up to work down there, and have everything we need. So we've been packing up the last couple weeks, cleaning and organizing," said Kirk Niemeyer, Lima Public Works Director.
It will be business as usual during the transition, with no interruption in services. The renovation will affect 38 employees in four departments. Niemeyer says the new location will have plenty of signage, and you are to enter from the back of the building.
