SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WLIO) - Multiple fire departments battled a second alarm residential house fire in Shawnee Township early Friday morning.
Around 6:15 am, Shawnee firefighters responded to a garage fire extending inside a residential home at the corner of Yoakam Road and Celement Drive. There were two people inside the home at the time of the fire. A passerby noticed the flames and alerted the residents, helping to get them safely out.
There were no injuries to the residents nor firefighters. The fire was caused by an accidential electrical issue. Shawnee raised a second alarm and received assistance from Lima, American and Perry Townships.
