The scholarships are a long tradition from the auxiliary stretching back 33 years and it's an experience appreciated by both Lima Memorial and the students.

"This is money that they don't have to take out of their own pocket, they're going into nursing and we'd like to keep these young people here in Lima too. I enjoy watching the youth, I promote the youth over the years and a lot of the things they can do. There's a lot of good kids in this community and it's a benefit to see them smile and say 'Yeah I've been recognized," stated Dave Harsh, Lima Memorial Auxiliary President.

"I'm really grateful for these scholarships because they really help me financially, but I'm also really looking forward to the school aspect of it. I love to further expand my education. I did volunteer here last summer. I was looking for maybe some entry-level jobs but yeah volunteering was very nice. I took a cart from room to room maybe with some coloring books, newspapers, magazines and it really made people's day, it made my day too," said Jaleena Howard, 2024 Elida graduate and Volunteen scholarship recipient.

We wish all the students the best of luck in their college education.
