State recognizes Findlay and other cities for Site Selection Magazine rankings

The State of Ohio commended Findlay and four other Ohio cities for making the top ten micropolitan community list in Site Selection Magazine.

Findlay was awarded the number one ranking for 2023, marking the tenth year in a row that they've received the honor. The full list of micropolitan cities considered in the list is over 500, and they are graded based on criteria like new construction, jobs created, or capital investments. The mayors of each city being recognized participated in a panel to explain their strategies for continued economic growth.

"I think some of the things that help attract businesses to Findlay and Hancock County are our good infrastructure, obviously access with I-75, the distribution systems that we have with warehousing and logistics. But I think also our businesses continue to invest because they see the support that they receive from the city, from the county government," stated Christina Muryn, Mayor of Findlay.

Ohio's Department of Development says Ohio as a whole is seeing an increase in business and is becoming a more attractive place for employers.

"There are lots of many other micropolitans in the state of Ohio that were recognized this year in Site Selection. And we're really proud of that—more communities in Ohio than any other state can claim," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development.

Other Ohio cities and their mayors recognized for making the top ten include Sidney, Defiance, Greenville, and Wooster.
