Friday marked the first official day of the summer season, and the kids in the City of Lima's Summer Playground Program took full advantage of the nice weather.
The kids from the Robb and Faurot Park programs were at Schoonover Park enjoying the community pool. After a couple of rainy days, it was a good opportunity for the kids to soak up the sun and enjoy one of the perks of the parks.
"The kids are in the park every day and Schoonover is a park, so it's a great way to kind of combine the two different managements and have everyone come out and we love having the kids here," said Reilie Lyons, Asst. Manager of the pool. "We want as many community members as possible to come out and enjoy the pool."
The pool will be open every day possible, including on the July 4, until August 4, starting at noon.
