Lima Council's Human Resources Committee held a meeting this evening to discuss a new program coming back into play. Human Resources is working with the Civil Rights Committee to bring back the Cadet Program. HR feels it will work hand -in-hand with the current Red and Blue Program. The Red and Blue program works with the areas young minorities helping them find city jobs after graduation.
"Sergeant Garlock has that program, he is doing a tremendous job with it. He was telling us he has over 35 kids participating in it right now and he's moving right along there. All of the kids are excited about it, they are doing a lot of good things there, so we are excited about it," Glenn said.
The Cadet Program will work closely with COP officers as a learning internship, possibly going into the police force in the future.
