LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Salvation Army is raising money with monthly garage sales.
The non-profit will be hosting the sales on the first Thursday and Friday of every month this summer, weather permitting, at 614 E Market Street in Lima. The items on sale are donated by residents and include kids' clothes, dress clothes, furniture, and toys. Proceeds help the Salvation Army continue to provide positive programs and resources for Lima's youth.
"We have a tutoring program that we started this year; we have an after-school program for the back-to-school kids; they get a bag, snacks. And then we also have Thursday night programs; they're like our Girl Guards, Sunbeams," explained Charity Bender, captain of the Lima Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army will also be hosting a free spring festival at 615 E. Spring Street in Lima for families next Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
