The Restoration House of Lima gives back to the community

LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Lima residents were able to get some free food to feed their families on Labor Day. The Restoration House of Lima gets donations from the Lima Walmart locations, Sams Club, and the West Ohio Food Bank to fill their houses, then they take the excess and give it away to people who may need it. Monday they setup in the parking lot at Trinity United Methodist Church to hand out a variety of items, including lots of fruits and vegetables and some baked items. Restoration House helps people through the recovery process from drug, alcohol, and mental health issues, and organizers say it is good for them to give back to the community that helps them. 

“We provide supportive housing, sober living, recovery housing for men and women, and their lives about been impacted by drugs, alcohol, mental health. We have some displaced veterans. So they have all come with the world on their shoulders, and they are working on getting their lives turned around and do a better job. And work toward having that independent living, as a law-abiding citizen again,” says Bobbie Nevarez, Administrator, Restoration House of Lima. 

The Restoration House holds their food distributions on holidays, and they move to various locations around Lima to help serve a variety of people.
