Progress has been made with all three of Detroit's motor companies, Ford, GM, and Stellantis, but Union President Shawn Fain says that more needs to be done in order to get the contracts and more that they are seeking. Lima was not announced to be going on strike, but UAW Local 1219 members say that they are ready to support their brothers and sisters who are striking, as well as help those who have been laid off from the Lima Ford plant.

"Right now we have had so many laid off this week, we are losing some next week that they are going to lay off. But just stay strong and help our union brothers and sisters on the strike lines. Yeah, wait and see if we are called to strike, and also be prepared and be ready to go to the strike lines and help our union brothers and sisters up north that are on strike," said Jeffrey Adams, UAW Local 1219 President.

The workers who have been laid off from the Ford plant will be volunteering in the area over the next few weeks.
