Uniopolis Browns Pink Out
Pink is everywhere this time of year, all in honor of breast cancer awareness .
"Everyone here I mean is affected by cancer in some way so it's just a great opportunity to give back to it," Kala Knoch, the head cheerleading coach for Uniopolis Browns, said.
One youth football team and its cheerleaders thought it was their turn to give back.
The Uniopolis Browns - A team that normally sports just brown and orange, now decked out in pink
"We kind of explained it to them. Not only that we had to wear pink but why so I think it's a good lesson earned for them," Knoch said.
Number 25, Braylon Walter understood why it was important
"Because of breast cancer," Walter said.
"They know what the reason is and it's to help people out and people get sick from it. They understand it," Head Football Coach, Kevin Sealscott, said.
The proceeds from a raffle at the event would all be going towards the Greater Auglaize County Cancer Society
"We get so much from the community, the kids sell ads every year and do we get so much support from them, so it's jut nice for the kids to be able to give back to the community," Knoch said.
The cheerleaders understood the importance too
"To support the community because they support us," Cheerleader Kourtney Ley said.
